Classic Car Boot Sale

A festival for a fiver.

The Classic Car Boot Sale is a second-hand shopper’s dream and a car lover’s delight. A space for all things vintage, timeless design and also future classics. Everything from clothing, homewares and records from traders all over the country and trading from exquisite design-led vehicles. The event is curated and produced by HemingwayDesign at least twice a year at King’s Cross, spreading across Granary Square, Lewis Cubitt Square and Coal Drops Yard. Over 150 participants are joined by thousands of attendees for a family-friendly celebration. 

As well as buying and selling, the event hosts a show-stopping display of classic cars, London’s best street food vendors, live DJs and workshops to create an exciting immersive experience. It brings 8-12K visitors to the thoughtful regeneration site and you tend to spot some well-known faces shopping in the midst of the action incl. Martin Freeman, Jason Momoa, Brooklyn Beckham, Dimitri from Paris, Jonathan Ross, Rocco Ritchie and Lady Amelia Windsor.

Over the years, highlights have incl. DJ sets by Greg Belson, Noble & Heath, Chris Sullivan and Natty Bo, workshops by Letterpress Collective, Timber Club, a photography exhibition curated by Youth Club Archive and a Coal Drops Yard music takeover by Voices Radio. Traders have incl. Wolf & Gypsy Vintage, Trunk Records, Vinyl Underground, Retold Vintage, Scott Fraser Simpson, Who Vintage, Blighty Militaria, Boro Europe, Boutique by Shelter, Freddie Grubb, Nordic Studio Books, Lang Made, Velopresso, Anna Maes Mac N Cheese Ltd, Van Dough, Original Fry Up Material, Little Red Food Truck & Bus Bar Company. Car owners and clubs incl. Dream Cars, Afro Classics Register & Gonzo Custom.

The boot sale has been featured across ITV, BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio London, London Live, Time Out, The Telegraph, The Guardian & The Times, amongst others.

Instigated the ‘Charity Shop Zone’ located in Coal Drops Yard outside the ‘paid entry’ area of the event, which led to there being 20K worth of social value income generated per boot sale by the end of Oct 2022 for the collective of charities.

Secured the attendance of key content incl. The Italian Job Bus, NASA Astronaut Transfer Van, Fat Brass, The Vintage Mobile Cinema & Douce.
