Urban Village Fete

Urban Village Fete is an alternative, contemporary twist on the traditional summer fete curated by HemingwayDesign for Greenwich Peninsula residents and a wider catchment area of South East London, conceived as a placemaking event to create new communities. It is a big, bold celebration of the best in design, music, art, innovative events and modern craftsmanship. The free day out attracts upwards of 30K visitors yearly, with loads of curated marketplaces, street food, talks and activities. The event features a series of talks hosted by BBC Radio London’s Robert Elms and a headline DJ set from the iconic Gilles Peterson. 

Other content incl. music by Bradley Zero, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, Jazz Refreshed, Charity Shop DJ & Jazz in The Park. Participatory activities have been hosted by Greenwich Dance, The Urban Worm, Clay Collective, Hato Press, Starting With Art, Leap Then Look, Chapeau Magique, Collage Club & The Hill Larder, among many others. Traders incl. TACO TRUCK, Maule Brewing, Orbit, Pasta e Basta, Umbrella Brewing, Cult Vinegar, Crown & Queue Meats, Bermondsey Street Bees, Breadwinners & Cakehole, among others.

Urban Village Fete has been featured across the Evening Standard, Resident Advisor, Country & Townhouse, BBC Radio London & The Independent.
